Compliance Partners

At Brown, many different departments and offices are responsible for monitoring applicable laws to develop, maintain, and communicate policies and procedures to their constituents.The following offices are subject matter experts in specific laws and policies.

Athletic Compliance - The goal of the Compliance Office is to provide the education and support that our student-athletes, coaches, administrators and supporters need to make the right decisions and comply with the rules.

Office or Research Integrity (ORI) - ORI supports the Brown University research community by providing guidance, education and resources to facilitate the conduct of ethical research in accordance with governing federal and state regulations and University policies.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)  - Brown EHS provides technical guidance to ensure campus activities comply with federal, state and local requirements as well as minimize the impact of these activities on the environment.

Export Control Compliance - Export Controls are federal laws that regulate the shipment or transfer, by whatever means, of controlled items, software, technology, or services out of the U.S.

Office of Institutional Equity & Diversity - The Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity provides oversight of policies and procedures to ensure that Brown University is compliant with relevant federal, state and local regulations and guidelines.
